Dear HPSG'ers,

I'm developing an (eventually HPSG) account of the 
Japanese V-te V verbal conjunctions (e.g. 
gakkoo ni hon o motte iku,
                =========
Taroo ni hon o yonde moratta),
               =============
 
and my explanation depends on the Aspect of the 
separate conjuncts and of the combined conjunct.  
I'm looking for diagnostics to help determine 
sentential aspect, and I think that adverb-verb 
restrictions might be helpful here.  Does anybody 
know of studies on adverb constraints which might 
be useful for my project? They need not specifically 
be Japanese studies, though that would be the most 
helpful.
