Depends whether you think THAT or S is the head of [that S]. In the former case, you just need to say that the filler-head schema (or type or sort or whatever) wants S as its head daughter, not CP. In the latter case, just say that the schema wants an unmarked S, not an S[THAT], as its head daughter. Or were you hoping to deduce (1) from something else? Carl
