------------------------------------------------------------------ The Institute for Natural Language Processing (IMS), University of Stuttgart, Germany, is looking for a talented researcher to join its computational semantics group. The position to be filled is part of project B9, one of about 14 connected projects making up the SFB 340 (funded by the German Science Foundation, DFG). The project B9 is concerned with constrained-based, underspecified semantic representations of natural language texts and inferencing from those representations. The candidate should meet a significant subset of the following requirements: - solid background in computational linguistics and/or computer science - practical and theoretical knowledge of logic programming and constraint-based logic programming - awareness of the problems of formal semantics for natural language Provided the approval by the funding agency, the position will run from January 1, 1998, for three years. The salary is according to the BAT II scale, starting from around DM 60.000, depending on age and family status. The University of Stuttgart is an equal opportunity employer.
