Dear Friends, it's close to October 1 so like every year Gert must be putting in a grant at his university for a machine to run all that great HPSG and computational linguistics software! Would those of you in the know please help me out again with some technical information so that I don't order stuff that in the end is not capable of running what I want to run. Here is a hopefully simple question: If I get the following items: - Sun Ultra 2 (with dual 200 MHz processors) OR Sun Ultra 30 w. 256 MB memory - the latest version of Solaris - the latest version of Allegro Common Lisp - the latest version of Sicstus Prolog will I then have all the hardware and software to realistically test all of the following Grammar Development Environments and to run the one I settle on in the end comfortably: - Page - Pleuk with Ale - Controll? I would very much appreciate if those of you 'in the know' could either confirm that this setup is capable of running the systems above that you are familiar with or if not, if you could point out to me what I would need to get in addition. Since our university mailserver is down, please write to me at the following email address: webelhut@mindspring.com (remember to drop the final "h" of my last name) Thank you very much for your help which I truly appreciate.
