Hi Tibor,

The term `complex' is somewhat misleading in this context; it just singles
out NPs that contain a head noun and sentential complement or relative
clause (and blocks movement from the clause):

(4.20) The Complex NP Constraint (CVS, p. 76)

No element contained in a sentence dominated by a noun phrase
with a lexical head noun may be moved out of that noun phrase 
by a transformation.
