The conference has been arranged in conjunction with the LSA Linguistic Institute, to take place on the Institute's third weekend. We hope that conference-goers and Institute participants alike will benefit from this opportunity to interact and share research. The ACAL 28 organizing committee invites abstract submissions on any aspect of African linguistics. The original call for papers is attached below, and includes all details. Vicki ********************************************************************** 28th Annual Conference on African Linguistics at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York July 11-13, 1997 CALL FOR PAPERS Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks in all areas of African Linguistics. If you are interested in giving a talk, please send: (i) An anonymous one page abstract, single-spaced, font 12-point. (ii) A camera-ready short version of the abstract that will fit into a 3" x 6" box. Please write the title of the paper and the name(s) and affiliation(s) of author(s) lightly in pencil on the back of this page; do not write them on the front. (iii) A 3" x 5" file card with name, affiliation, complete mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, and paper title.
