<HTML>...</HTML>. For instance, instead of:> Some recent web browsing (for other purposes, certainly > not, heaven forbid, for its own sake! :-), got me to the following, which > may be of some use: > > http://cdr.stanford.edu/html/hypermail/hypermail.html > > which is a mail to html converter from Tom Gruber. > > No idea how it works, but the results seem quite nice. On that note, I'd like to announce that thanks to John's suggestion, I set up a preliminary Web interface for recent postings to the HPSG list at the following URL (pending possible changes): ftp://ling.ohio-state.edu/pub/HPSG/Log/MailArchives/Archive3/index.html All messages to hpsg@ling.ohio-state.edu will soon be archived automatically. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions. Incidentally, there are a few (")features(") of hypermail that we may want to pay attention to in future postings: 1. Hypermail converts text preceded by forwarding prefixes such as ">" automatically into italics. This only seems to work in the beginning of a message (like in this one). 2. Most Web browsers will make a mess of spacing-sensitive text such as examples with glosses, AVMs, or ASCII trees without special formatting instructions. To that end I suggest that we enclose such text with the hypermail escape sequence for HTML formatted text:
