All, Nice to see some of you in Copenhagen. I believe the HPSG Conference and the HPSG workshop in the summer school both went very well, thanks to the efforts of many people. I would like to encourage all of you to think in terms of submitting papers to the LSA meeting in New Orleans, which is a fantastic place to go for a conference. Need I say more? Best, Ivan --------------- Date: Fri, 12 Aug 1994 09:58:48 -0500 (EST) From: ZZLSA@gallua.gallaudet.edu Subject: LSA Calls for Papers The privilege of offering papers for presentation at the LSA Annual Meeting is open to all members of the Society. During 1994, members may submit papers in four categories: (1) anonymously reviewed 15-minute papers, (2) anonymously reviewed 30-minute papers, (3) organized sessions, and (4) anonymously reviewed poster sessions for topics in psycholinguistics only. The guidelines and abstract specifications may be found with the requisite submittal form in the December 1993 LSA Bulletin or may be requested from the Secretariat (zzlsa@gallua.gallaudet.edu) The guidelines for abstract preparation must be rigorously adhered to for the abstracts to be considered by the Program Committee. Abstracts for all presentations at the Annual Meeting in New Orleans, 5-8 January 1995, must be received with a submittal form no later than 5:00 PM, 10 September 1994. Submissions should be addressed to the LSA Secretariat, 1325 18th Street, NW, Suite 211, Washington, DC 20036. Members are urged to remember that post office delivery, INCLUDING EXPRESS MAIL, is erratic. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered and will be returned to the authors. Strict enforcement of this deadline is necessary to allow sufficient time to process and prepare the abstracts for mailing to the Committee members. All abstracts must be reviewed and rated before the Committee meeting scheduled for 23-25 September 1994. Software Poster Session The Linguistic Society will again sponsor a poster session for software. Participation is limited to LSA members who have developed software of interest to the discipline and which may be purchased for less than $100 in addition to the cost of distribution media. Authors will be encouraged to discuss further developments or to simplyh interact with users and potential users one-to-one. Participants will be expected to come to the meeting with posters and their own computers if they wish to do demonstrations. Abstracts of software discussed in poster form will be in the Meeting Handbook. An abstract submittal form may be requested from the Secretariat (zzlsa@gallua.gallaudet.edu) The deadline for receipt of software abstracts is 14 October 1994. Abstracts should be sent to: LSA Secretariat, 1325 18th Street, NW, Suite 211, Washington, DC 20036-6501. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- LINGUIST List: Vol-5-895.
