Dear all, I am evaluating the possibility of editing a volume concerning "HPSG in romance" (or something like that, depending on the actual availability of material). The main purpose of such a volume is to give a picture of the current state of art of HPSG studies in romance languages; its main feature should be short term delivery: the success of the whole project depends on the availability of the relevant material as soon as possible. As absurd as it may seem, the volume makes some sense only if the final version will be ready before January 95; which means, under an optimistic perspective, that the contributions has to be made available for review comments and criticisms before october 94. In addition, since at the beginning of next month I have to submit a formal proposal to the publisher, I would need to have a gross-grained idea of the contents of the volume. Thus I invite everybody to send me draft versions or extended abstracts of possible contributions WITHIN a couple of week. I stress the fact that they are just in order (a) to see whether the amount of available material is enough (b) to draw a unifying concept underlaying the book (c) to avoid redoundancies or "out of balance" contents. Thus the papers-extended abstracts should contain (at least) a clear list of the data to be accounted and the main hypotesis underlaying the approach (if you have more than one paper, please send it). No kind of selection will depend on these first informal contributions. Thank you in advance for your collaboration, Luca Dini (dini@ux1sns.sns.it) P.S. Poscript and latex versions will be ok. ------- End of Forwarded Message
