I am now looking at the first actual copy of: Head-Driven Phrase Structure Grammar, by Carl Pollard and Ivan Sag. 1994. Chicago: University of Chicago Press and Stanford: CSLI Publications. Note that this is not in the CSLI Lecture Note series. In fact, CSLI was not involved in the actual production of the book (a regrettable fact, in retrospect). It's hard for me to believe that I actually have a copy in hand after so many painful delays and unfulfilled expectations (for the whole story, buy me a beer sometime). Copies should be in the Chicago warehouse within a few days, but I do not know what their schedule is for shipping to fill orders. Caveat emptor! For those of you who may have to make decisions about publishing your book manuscripts in the future, let me strongly recommend that you consider CSLI Publications and the new series they are about to launch with Cambridge University Press. Dikran Karagueuzian - head of CSLI publications (dikran@csli.stanford.edu) - is the person to contact. He is also trying to consolidate efforts to establish latex standards for HPSG diagrams and trees -- an effort I hope we can all support. I hope to see you all in Melbourne, Sydney, Copenhagen, Stanford, or Utrecht. Have a good summer. --Ivan
